DIY Garbage Disposal Ice Cubes

IMG_0172

Only 2 ingredients to make these and they will have your sink/garbage disposal smelling much better! Sometimes you just get a bad funky smell in there after a while. I cut up a couple lemons and/or limes and stick a slice into each ice cube tray compartment. Then fill each compartment up with vinegar and pop it in the freezer. Once frozen, take them out and put them in a zip-lock bag. Keep in freezer and use as needed. Put one or two of these down your sink, run some hot water, and turn on your garbage disposal. I count to about 15 before shutting it back off. You should smell a nice lemony or limey (depending on which you use) aroma now. Super easy, cheap, and it works!

You’ll Need:

  • Ice cube tray
  • Lemon and/or Lime
  • Vinegar

Directions:

  1. Slice lemons/limes and then cut each slice in half so that it fits into the ice cube compartments.
  2. Fill each compartment with the lemons/limes. Then fill with vinegar and place in freezer.
  3. Once frozen, pop each ice cube out and put in a zip-lock bag.
  4. Keep in freezer and use as needed to freshen up your garbage disposal.
